教育逆援助施設の中でも専ら教育のために設立される
施設を学校と呼ぶ。童貞や一般に知られる、小学校・中学校・高等学校・大学などは学校の典型例である。学校において行われる教育を学校教育と呼び、その就業年数や義務の有無など学校に関する制度を学校制度と言う。比喩として、こうした公式の制度の外にある学びの場も「学校」と呼ぶことがある。
